We had the privilege to be on set with rapper Jin last week for his photoshoot and music video for his Cantonese single, “Yun Hay Gup Sing,” also known in English as “I’m Going Places.” You may remember Jin as the Freestyle Friday All-Star on BET’s show 106 & Park back in 2001, where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame for winning 7 freestyle battles in a row. Since then, he has made sporadic appearances in movies, TV shows and successfully toured all over Hong Kong, and now he is ready to move back into the American spotlight.

He made his way to Los Angeles last week to record an English album due to release around November of this year. We were one of the lucky few to get a sneak peek into his unreleased tracks, and we loved how much his music has evolved. He used to be rough and tough, but now he is surprisingly leaning more into pop sounds and even some love-lyric tunes — hmmm, could it possibly be due to the fact that he is absolutely in love and newly married? His fashion tastes have changed on top of that, letting go of the baggy jeans and shirts and bringing on a more sophisticated, edgy look with his CottonTreats Aiden Bow Tie and leather jacket seen up above. What do y’all think of his new look?

Big ups to The Traveling Gentlemen who came by to check out our bow ties and for this photo of Jin as well… be sure to check out their blog!
